The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired in every word and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21). We believe the Bible is sufficient for every situation of life and ministry (2 Timothy 3:17; 2 Peter 1:2-4; John 17:17) and that it is complete with no further revelation being given by God for His Church (Revelation 22:18-19).
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God (Deuteronomy 6:4), self-existent and self-sustaining. God eternally exists as one in nature (John 10:30), yet in three persons: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each deserving worship (John 5:23; 9:38; Matthew 28:19; Acts 5:3-5); and equal in every divine perfection.
We believe God’s ways, judgments and moral character are infinitely perfect, above us and beyond our scrutiny (Isaiah 55:9-11; Romans 11:33-35).
We believe God is perfectly righteous (Psalms 11:7), true (Romans 3:4), omnipotent (Revelation 19:6), omnipresent (Psalms 139:7-9), loving (1 John 4:7-8), holy (1 Peter 1:15-16) and omniscient (Isaiah 44:7; 46:10).
We believe He is eternal, and created out of nothing all things that exist, simply by the power of His word.
We believe the universe, including man, came to exist in a fully developed state as a result of this creative act of God, not by any process of evolution (Isaiah 42:5; Genesis 1-2).
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal being who is sovereign over creation, providence and salvation (Psalms 103:19; Romans 11:36). He concerns Himself mercifully with man, hearing and answering prayer (Luke 11:9-13) and saving from sin all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Titus 3:4-7).
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who, being equal with the Father (John 5:19, 22; 8:58), condescended to take on human flesh (Philippians 2:6-8), being born of a virgin (Luke 1:34-35), living a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), and dying for sinners as their substitute on the cross enduring God’s wrath in their place (Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:24; 2 Corinthians 5:21). He arose physically from the grave three days later and ascended bodily into heaven (Luke 24:36-43; Acts 2:31-33; Romans 4:25; Acts 1:9-10).
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4), possesses all the attributes of God including omniscience (1 Corinthians 2:10-13), omnipresence (Psalms 139:7-10), and eternality (Hebrews 9:14). He was sent from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8-11), to regenerate (Titus 3:5), sanctify (2 Thessalonians 2:13), seal (Ephesians 1:13-14), and empower (Acts 1:8) all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19).
Man
We believe man was directly and immediately created by God (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7, 22). Though originally created in God’s image, through Adam’s sin man became sinful by nature and by choice (Romans 5:11-12; Ephesians 2:3; Romans 3:10-18). As a result of this sin he is separated and estranged from God (Ephesians 2:1-3) and under His condemnation (Romans 3:9-20; 6:23; Hebrews 12:26; Romans 2:5-6; Ephesians 5:6; Revelation 20:11-15).
Salvation
We believe there is only one way to know and be accepted by God and that is by a repentant faith which receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, relying solely on what He did on the cross in paying the penalty for their sins (John 3:16; 14:6; Galatians 2:15-16; Acts 2:34-36; 1 Corinthians 15:1-5). We believe that justification before God is an legal act of God in which He declares a believing sinner to be perfectly and eternally righteous before Him based upon the righteousness of Christ credited to the sinner at the moment of their faith in Christ, apart from any work or virtue of man (Romans 3:27-28; 4:1-5; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians 3:9; Jude 24).
The Church
We believe all who have put their faith in Jesus Christ are members of Christ’s Church and we welcome their fellowship (Ephesians 2:11-3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12). We believe the purpose of the Church and each Christian is to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31) by loving others as Christ loves them (Ephesians 5:1-2, 25-27; John 13:34-35), living godly lives (Matthew 5:16; 1 Peter 3:15), and by making disciples through evangelizing non-believers and teaching them to obey Christ (Matthew 28:18-20). We believe all Christians have equal access and spiritual privileges as priests to come to God in prayer through Jesus Christ, and equal affection from God as His children (1 Corinthians 12:4-7; 1 Peter 4:10-11; Hebrews 4:14-16; 1 Peter 2:8-9; John 1:11-13).
The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: Water baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 28:18-19; Luke 22:14-20). Baptism is a picture of union with Christ and a public identification with Christ as Lord and with His Body, the Church (Acts 2:38-42; 11:47-48; Romans 6:1-4). The Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death (1 Corinthians 11:23-33) and is only for believers (1 Corinthians 11:28-32).
Last Things
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return physically and visibly to the earth (Acts 1:9-11; Matthew 24:29-31) to establish His kingdom (Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 19:11-19; 20:4-6). We believe there will be a bodily resurrection of all people: the saved unto eternal life (John 6:39; Romans 8:19-23; Revelation 20:1-5) and the unsaved to judgment and eternal separation from God in hell (Daniel 12:2; John 5:39; Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10; Matthew 25:41). At death the believer immediately passes into the presence of the Lord (Philippians 1:23).
